PAL Reading Funfair @ SK Chenor

SK Chenor and TELL Mentee Maizatul Bt Daud hosted the PAL Reading Funfair today, 4th August 2015.  Despite being a smaller group of pupils than other schools, the impact of the programme was excellent, as teachers were able to provide more one-on-one assistance to the pupils throughout the event.  The students really enjoyed the activities, especially Punctuation Skittles!  

Mai commented after the event that she was very impressed at how excited and eager the pupils were to use the learning games and will be using them in her classes in the future.

Workshop @ Kuantan

Two mentors from Maran, Tom and Sarah, assisted with the activity based workshop hosted by the Kuantan cluster, today 3rd August, 2015.  The event aimed at equipping non-TELL teachers with student-centered and fun activities for English instruction.  The morning comprised of TELL mentees from Kuantan hosting mini-sessions in which they demonstrated activities for their colleagues.  The afternoon session was coordinated by the mentors and covered topics such as grammar and monolingual classroom instruction. 

We were happy to assist with the event and were very impressed at the hard work by both the Kuantan Mentors and Mentees.

English News @ SK Jengka 3

Latifah Bt. Mat Nor and I have been planning and developing resources at SK Jengka 3.  We have worked together to create a template for pupils to create news paper articles on any topic.  Today we launched the resource with her Year 5 pupils, studying Natural Disasters.  The project was a great success and the pupils enjoyed making their newspaper articles on poster sized paper.  The resource we created, English News, is suitable for any topic and any level.  It supports 21st Century Learning and is a great way to create an English corner or wall too!  Please take time to explore this resource and use in your own instruction.

It has been a great initiative with Latifah, and I am proud to share English News with you.
