PAL Reading Funfair @ SK Jengka 6

SK Jengka 6 played host to the PAL Reading Funfair this week.  Despite a surprise Tuesday holiday, the event wen ahead as scheduled on 6th May, 2015.  Teachers and students had a great time with the activities and learned about the PAL Reading Programme.  The Head of the English Department told me after the event that the school will continue to use the programme for reading fluency and co-curricular activities.

I want to express my most sincere appreciation to the teachers at SK Jengka 6 who made the event possible.  The enthusiasm and help of so many teachers from the school truly made the event special for the students!

Great work SK Jengka 6 and I hope to help with the PAL Reading Programme more in the future!

Book Report by Mohd Amin Bin Abd Rahman and Sarah Higgs

Mohd Amin Bin Abd Rahman's devotion to the reading fluency of all pupils at SK Jengak 6 is truly inspiring.  Not only is he a large proponent of the PAL Reading Programme, and supported the launch of the programme last year and supplemented it this year with planning the PAL Reading Funfair, he is also the leading a task force to create a Reading Enrichment Centre for the pupils to utilize at school.

In addition, Mohd Amin asked me to collaborate on a series of activities suitable for all readers to help develop their reading awareness and fluency.  The activities we developed combined reading fluency and analytical skills with HOTS and speaking fluency as well.

Thanks to Mohd Amin's initiative, we can now all benefit from these activities to support PAL Reading, NILAM, and other reading programs implemented!
