Our most recent Kids Club meeting was really fun, but it sure was hot! That's ice water in those cups. The kids were melting before we had even really got started! So we mostly did low-energy activities like reading, Q&A, and coloring+singing. It was fun, relaxed, and we all learned a little something new. Thanks everyone for coming, and we look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks!

Excellent TPR Activity @ SK Jengka 5
Total Physical Response is a great technique for getting pupils active and interested in your topic. Today at SK Jengka 5, Suzani Bt Awang and I co-taught a Year 3 review class on numbers. This topic is hardly interesting for the students, however using TPR activities s a great way to reinvigorate the topic.
In this lesson, an adaptation of Musical Chairs was used in the garden. The teacher assigned each student a number 21-30 and had them march around the garden. As they march, they count from 21 onward. When the music stops, the teacher calls out a number and those students join her on the side of the garden.
It is a simple activity, however it is very fun for the students! We can all use this as a reminder that adapting activities we already know and using TPR are great ways to reinvigorate a review topic.

PAL Reading Funfair @ SK Chenor
SK Chenor and TELL Mentee Maizatul Bt Daud hosted the PAL Reading Funfair today, 4th August 2015. Despite being a smaller group of pupils than other schools, the impact of the programme was excellent, as teachers were able to provide more one-on-one assistance to the pupils throughout the event. The students really enjoyed the activities, especially Punctuation Skittles!
Mai commented after the event that she was very impressed at how excited and eager the pupils were to use the learning games and will be using them in her classes in the future.
