In the Jempol cluster, we have been discussing the 21st Century Classroom & how to implement the many different suggestions set forth by the PPD. We have also been focusing on multi-modal presentation of new content in class instruction. To remind you, that means presenting the new content using different methods, for example from the book and through visual aids.
I was invited to attend an EXCELLENT class executed by Noraziah Binti Jelani at SK Jengka 5 today, 13th February 2015. Noraziah leads the way in the use of ICT and 21st Century Classroom, and is always eager to integrate technology and classroom instruction. However, she also sees the importance of presenting new content in different modalities. In her reading lesson, Noraziah had students read in pairs, watch a short animation, participate in a group sequencing activity of the plot and had them do a dramatic reading at the end. Her lesson plan reminds us of the importance of using multiple modalities to increase fluency and comprehension.
Great work Noraziah & excellent reminder to us all!
